In this role, you will:
Qualifications & Experience
- Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License (required)
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate (required)
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience in self-contained behavior classrooms and structured intensive support programs (especially Autism support)
- Background working with students with emotional disabilities or other exceptionalities
- Awareness of the unique challenges facing at-risk, English language learners, and diverse populations
- Familiarity with federal, state, and district special education guidelines and documentation
- Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or willingness to participate in staff development
Responsibilities
- Support students in self-contained, behavior-focused classrooms
- Provide structured, intensive support tailored to individual student needs
- Cultivate prosocial, self-regulatory skills among students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and related documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong communication with families
