Position Overview
Pickerington Local School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Intervention Specialist to support middle school students during the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction and educational support through a combination of resource room services, small-group interventions, and inclusive classroom settings.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities while collaborating effectively with educators, families, and support staff to promote student success.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students with disabilities.
Deliver services in resource room, small-group tutoring, and inclusion settings.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.
Work effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid and active Ohio teaching certificate/license in:
Education of the Handicapped K–12, or
Intervention Specialist K–12 (Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate)
Ability to provide services in resource room, small-group tutoring, and inclusion models.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Experience working with middle school students.
Experience supporting students with multiple disabilities.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and diverse populations.
Schedule
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
