Position Overview
Pickerington Local School District is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized educational services to students with visual impairments across multiple school locations during the 2026–2027 school year.
The selected candidate will support a caseload of approximately 8–10 students, primarily at the elementary level, with the possibility of serving middle and high school students as needed. This position involves direct instruction, consultation services, collaboration with educational teams, and compliance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.

Essential Responsibilities
Direct Services
Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in accordance with their IEPs.
Deliver individualized educational services designed to promote student independence and academic success.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to support student access to curriculum and learning environments.
Consultation Services
Consult with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families regarding accommodations, instructional strategies, and supports for students with visual impairments.
Assist educational teams in implementing appropriate modifications and accessibility supports.
IEP and Compliance Responsibilities
Participate in IEP meetings and other student-related meetings as requested.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and services.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to service delivery and student progress.
Indirect Services
Complete required documentation and reporting related to service provision.
Communicate regularly with families, staff, and educational teams regarding student progress and IEP-related activities.
Coordinate services across multiple school sites to ensure continuity of support.
Qualifications
Required:
Active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification.
Ability to provide both direct and consultative services in educational settings.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to travel between multiple school locations within the district.
Preferred:
Experience working with students with visual impairments across a variety of grade levels.
Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and compliance requirements.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
