In this full-time position, you’ll take the lead in substantially separate classrooms, providing essential support for K-1st and 3rd-5th grade students facing significant cognitive and physical challenges. You’ll work closely with some students who require toileting assistance, support for non-verbal communication, and help from RBTs, making your expertise and compassion invaluable. This is perfect for educators seeking to refine their skills in designing individualized instruction and implementing applied behavior analysis, all while collaborating within a dynamic educational team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience with substantially separate classrooms, preferably with severe/profound disabilities
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis and specially designed instruction
- Comfortable supporting students with toileting and adaptive needs
- Experience with non-verbal communication strategies
- Collaborative attitude and adaptability
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with significant disabilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans utilizing ABA principles
- Collaborate with RBTs, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Monitor and document progress towards IEP goals
- Provide direct assistance with daily living skills and toileting as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
