Qualifications & Desired Skills:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience in self-contained or specialized instruction settings
- Strong understanding of developing and implementing IEPs
- Familiarity with diverse learning needs, including behavioral and academic accommodations
- Excellent classroom management and communication abilities
- Collaborative mindset to engage with support staff, families, and administrators
- Flexibility to teach either K-2 or 4th-5th grade students
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ unique needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Implement effective behavior management strategies and evidence-based interventions
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for all students
