What we’re looking for:
- Valid New Mexico teaching license in Special Education
- High school certification required for SPED High School English and Biology positions
- Background working with students in high school, middle school, elementary, or PreK settings
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs and adapting instruction to meet individual learning goals
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with general educators, families, and support staff
- Commitment to equitable and effective practices within intensive learning centers and inclusive settings
Key duties:
- Teach and mentor students with diverse needs across high school English, high school Biology, middle school resource, elementary (ILC and inclusion/pullout combination), and PreK settings
- Develop, execute, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Use data-driven approaches to adjust instruction and measure student progress
- Create supportive and structured classroom environments that enable student growth
- Communicate regularly with parents and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of services
- Uphold state and federal regulations, ensuring all documentation is timely and accurate
