Special Education Teacher | Portales, New Mexico

Multiple positions are available, including high-need roles for certified High School Special Education teachers with credentials in English or Biology. Additional opportunities encompass middle school Resource classrooms, elementary Intensive Learning Centers, a pullout/inclusion combination role, and Pre-K special education. You’ll work on-site and become an integral part of a passionate team—guiding, inspiring, and empowering learners with diverse needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico Special Education licensure (required)
- For certain high school positions: Current High School Certification in English or Biology
- Proven experience or training in special education settings
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Dedication to providing inclusive, individualized student support
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere that nurtures growth and learning
- Deliver engaging instructional strategies tailored to a range of learning styles and abilities
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
