Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Vermont Professional Teaching License with one of the following:
- Special Educator Endorsement
- Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement
- Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
- Previous experience in special education settings preferred
- Solutions-oriented mindset and commitment to student growth
- Flexibility to collaborate in developing new pilot programs
- Successful completion of fingerprinting (district will accept recent, approved fingerprints from another school assignment)
Key Responsibilities:
- High School Caseloads A & B: Serve as one of two teachers launching a pilot program for students with executive functioning needs, Autism, and severe behaviors. Work closely with students preparing for employment and building real-world skills, including coordination with a local tech center.
- Elementary Caseload C: Join a team of four educators supporting students with learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism in reading, writing, and math. Collaborate proactively with PT and OT specialists.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes progress and confidence
- Communicate effectively with families, team members, and administrators
