Special Education Teacher | Springfield, Vermont

Three Special Education teachers are needed for a full-time, onsite contract position spanning the 2026-2027 academic year. This is an opportunity to help launch and develop innovative programs that support a diverse range of learners.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Vermont Teaching License with at least one of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
- Experience with students who have executive function challenges, Autism, severe behaviors, or learning disabilities
- Creative, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and with other educators
- Organized, adaptable, and eager to prepare students for real-world success
- Fingerprinting required (recent approved school fingerprints accepted)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a new pilot program at the high school, working closely with two other educators and guiding students to develop both academic and life/career readiness skills
- Address learning needs in areas such as executive function, Autism support, and severe behavioral challenges
- For elementary role: collaborate within a team of four, delivering tailored instruction for students with learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism, with support from PT/OT specialists as needed
- Adapt lessons, utilize evidence-based strategies, and maintain strong communication with colleagues, staff, and families
- Track students’ progress and contribute to a collaborative, encouraging learning environment
