Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active state teaching license in Special Education
- Certification to teach elementary level, grades K-5
- Experience with moderate to severe disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and classroom environment to diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to meet student goals
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Use evidence-based strategies and data-driven decision-making to address academic and behavioral needs
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
- Maintain compliance with all local and state special education regulations
