Special Education Teacher - Ringgold, GA
A rewarding full-time contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional passionate about supporting early learners in special education. This position is designed for those with experience in special education teaching or as a paraprofessional, and is based within a vibrant Pre-K program dedicated to fostering growth and development for children ages 3-5.
This role supports young students with a range of needs, many of whom are non-verbal or minimally verbal. You will play an active part in their toilet training and feeding routines, ensuring compassionate care and promoting independence. The setting offers collaboration with a dedicated team and the chance to make impactful contributions each day.
Qualifications:
- Current GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements covering Pre-K age groups
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional, particularly in early childhood or Pre-Kindergarten settings
- Understanding of early childhood development as it pertains to children with varying needs
- Comfortable assisting with toilet training, diapering, assist feeding, and supporting behavior management plans
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a caseload of Pre-K students (ages 3-5) with individualized educational and developmental programs
- Assist in daily living activities, including feeding and toilet training
- Use positive behavioral supports to encourage student engagement and growth
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and school team members
- Document student progress and help implement IEP goals
