In this contract position, you’ll play a vital role in a growing virtual Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) program. With a dynamic caseload—currently about 25 students with IEPs, and the potential for more as enrollment increases—you will collaborate closely with families, provide direct support to a full-time case manager, and help guide students in achieving their IEP goals. The students have diverse needs, including Speech, Health Impairment, and Learning Disabilities.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher certification is required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in virtual or remote settings preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable coordinating virtually with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to flexibly schedule meetings and instruction as needed during school hours, Monday through Friday
- Knowledge of IEP development and compliance processes
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a virtual case manager for students with IEPs in grades K-8
- Coordinate closely with the full-time case manager to support ongoing student needs and IEP goals
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing guidance and support as necessary
- Provide occasional direct student instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Manage documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education requirements
