Special Education Teacher - Roslyn, Washington
Step into a unique, fully virtual role as a K-8 Special Education Case Manager supporting a vibrant and growing Alternative Learning Experience program. This contract opportunity allows you to make a meaningful difference for students learning from home, guiding their progress and collaborating closely with families and full-time staff.
You’ll partner with a dynamic group of students—currently 25 with IEPs, with the possibility to grow to 30 or more as the program expands. Your expertise will help tailor instruction and IEP goal support for a wide spectrum of needs, including speech, health impairments, and learning disabilities. Flexibility is at the heart of this position: while the majority of work takes place during standard school hours, you’ll have the freedom to arrange meetings and services in coordination with parents and the on-site case manager, suiting your own schedule and maximizing student success.
Qualifications:
- Washington state certification as a Special Education Teacher (required)
- Case management experience in special education, ideally with virtual programs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with parents, colleagues, and FT case manager
- Ability to develop and implement IEP goals and provide direct instruction virtually
- Deep understanding of a range of student needs (e.g., speech, health impairment, learning disability)
- Organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple student cases virtually
Responsibilities:
- Support a caseload of K-8 students with IEPs in a fully online, home school-based setting
- Collaborate with the full-time case manager to ensure IEP goals are met
- Provide virtual direct instruction as needed
- Coordinate with parents and tailor schedules for optimal engagement
- Maintain documentation, participate in virtual meetings, and complete compliance reporting
