Special Education Teacher | Sacramento, California

Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential as a Special Education Specialist (or eligibility for one)
- Previous experience or strong background working with middle school-aged students
- Knowledge and understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to implement differentiated instruction strategies tailored to various learning levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with instructional teams and families
- Compassionate approach to supporting the academic, behavioral, and social needs of students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in a small SDC classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for each student, ensuring compliance with all regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to deliver cohesive educational experiences
- Track and report on student progress, adapting interventions or supports as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and motivated
- Maintain regular communication with families, updating them about progress and strategies for home support
