Special Education Teacher - San Marcos, Texas

For the 2026-2027 school year, a Special Education Teacher is sought to provide foundational learning and life skills support to a small group of EC-6 students in a nurturing environment near San Marcos, TX. You’ll work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM in a collaborative, supportive school community.
Your expertise with Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings will be invaluable, as you help shape individualized education plans and advocate for student growth. You’ll facilitate learning and provide functional support as needed, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current Texas Educator License with Special Education and Core/Generalist endorsements
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, specifically with foundational learning and life skills support
- Proven experience participating in and contributing to ARD meetings
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Commitment to adhering to a professional dress code (no visible tattoos, single color hair only, professional attire, minimal earrings)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to a small group of students (5 total), including two requiring additional functional support
- Participate actively in ARD meetings, contributing insights to guide student plans
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that emphasizes growth, independence, and community
- Collaborate with school staff to support students’ academic, emotional, and functional development
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date student records and documentation
