Assignments may include covering vacancies, leaves of absence, and supporting classrooms long-term.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred based on assignment)
- Proven classroom experience in special education settings
- Background implementing IEP goals and providing specialized instruction
- Confidence managing classroom behavior and fostering positive student relationships
- Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Flexible, adaptable, and ready to work across different schools or programs as needed Preferred experience in: Autism Support, Emotional Support, Multiple Disabilities, Behavioral Health, IU or specialized school settings
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and individualized support within a variety of special education programs
- Adapt swiftly to new classroom environments and student needs
- Implement and monitor IEPs, collecting data on student progress
- Utilize strategies such as ABA, BIPs, and de-escalation techniques to create positive learning spaces
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success
This contract role aligns with the school calendar (August 10, 2026 – June 11, 2027) and offers a consistent school-day schedule, approximately 35 hours per week. Candidates must reside within a 35-minute commute of assigned locations.
