Special Education Teacher | South Boston, Virginia

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience or strong interest in working in life skills or self-contained classrooms
- Proven ability to support students with diverse learning needs
- Skilled in creating individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional strategies
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans geared toward functional life skills and academic progress
- Collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals to deliver instruction and behavioral support
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment to help students reach their full potential
- Collect and analyze student performance data to adjust teaching methods as needed
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and related service providers regarding student goals and progress
- Support classroom routines and actively contribute to a positive school community
