Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education, covering grades K-12
- Experience with severe behavioral and/or self-contained classroom environments strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs for diverse age groups and content areas
- Skilled in adapting curricula and applying behavioral strategies for a wide range of abilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Flexibility across subject matters to deliver multi-disciplinary instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and manage all academic subjects within a self-contained special education classroom
- Employ evidence-based instructional techniques and behavior interventions tailored to individual needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Build trusting relationships with students and families to foster a positive learning community
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and behavioral incidents
