Special Education Teacher | Spanish Fort, Alabama
Step into a rewarding opportunity impacting young learners as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom setting serving K–5th grade students. This role is perfect for travel professionals seeking a contract assignment and looking to make a lasting difference in a setting where your skills will be greatly valued. The position is on-site, with a singular campus assignment, offering a consistent schedule Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 3:15pm.
You'll join a collaborative effort to revitalize special education services, as the school has not had a dedicated SPED teacher for three years. The current goal is to divide responsibilities among two Special Education Teachers, providing focused instruction and support to a manageable caseload of approximately 10 students. Some students may require assistance with toileting and other personal care needs.

What we’re looking for:
- Valid and current educator certification in Special Education (must present documentation)
- Experience or strong interest in self-contained K–5 classroom environments
- Ability to support students with a range of needs, including personal care and toileting
- Flexibility and strong communication for collaborating with school staff, administration, and families
- Previous travel/contract experience preferred, but not required
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to meet IEP goals
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for all students
- Maintain accurate documentation for progress and compliance
- Collaborate closely with a fellow SPED teacher and multidisciplinary team members
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all learners
