Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher.
- Demonstrated experience as a case manager for students in special education.
- Proficient in IEP development and compliance, with working knowledge of Frontline or similar software.
- SAMA (restraint) training required or willingness to obtain district-specific certification.
- Experience delivering instruction and behavioral support in a life-skills classroom for elementary-aged children.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and external professionals.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and track progress of IEPs for a caseload of students.
- Deliver individualized instruction to meet academic, social, and life-skills goals.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals—especially during dismissal duty to ensure students’ safety.
- Monitor classroom and student safety with adherence to SAMA protocols.
- Communicate regularly with families and the wider instructional team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and federal requirements.
