Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching License
- Experience teaching high school students with diverse needs strongly preferred
- Familiarity with life skills curriculum and strategies for differentiated instruction
- Knowledge of IEP development, data tracking, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Compassion, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to student growth
Role Responsibilities:
- Create, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet individual IEP goals
- Teach functional academics, social skills, and daily living skills
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraeducators, and support staff
- Maintain accurate data on student progress and keep families informed
- Attend faculty meetings, trainings, and parent conferences as required
