Certified 3rd Grade Special Education Teacher in Waynesville, NC

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state teaching license with Special Education Certification
- Experience teaching 2nd or 3rd grade students preferred
- Background in implementing adapted curriculum and intensive intervention strategies
- Passion for working with students who have unique learning needs
- Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify curriculum tailored to individual student needs, focusing on intensive intervention and adapted instruction
- Assess student progress regularly, using data to inform instructional adjustments
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment—both academically and emotionally
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, related service providers, and families to support each child’s educational goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to school and district requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing professional growth opportunities
