Special Education Teacher - Yonkers, NY

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification required
- Experience or strong interest in supporting students with diverse needs, including both verbal and nonverbal learners
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Strong collaborative skills to partner with teaching assistants, related service providers, and families
- Proven ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies for individual learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective, differentiated instruction during school hours (8:40 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Implement and monitor students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster a safe, respectful classroom community that encourages active participation
- Track and report on student progress toward academic, behavioral, and social goals
- Participate in professional development and communicate regularly with staff and families
