Provide meaningful support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational setting near Anoka, MN. This contract opportunity involves working across two locations: one high school and one elementary school. Collaborate closely with a dedicated team to deliver specialized gym activities that align with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and play an essential role in their educational journey.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure required; DAPE licensure preferred.
- Experience supporting and instructing students with disabilities in school environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple locations and schedules.
- Knowledge of due process requirements, documentation, and IEP development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, therapists, and administrative teams.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all students.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging gym activities tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities, as documented in their IEPs.
- Teach daily gym classes at the high school site (two consecutive classes each day).
- Provide instruction two days per week in the elementary school setting.
- Accurately maintain due process paperwork and contribute to IEP meetings as needed.
- Work as an integral member of the DAPE team to ensure program consistency across both sites.
- Build relationships with students, encouraging participation and confidence in physical activities.
