Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching license.
- Background in Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) or relevant gym-based methodologies for students with disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement lesson plans based on IEP goals.
- Experience managing due process documentation in line with district or state regulations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for teamwork with fellow educators and support staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and execute adaptive gym lessons aligned with students’ IEP requirements.
- Deliver engaging instruction: Daily two consecutive gym classes at a high school site, plus two days weekly at an elementary school classroom.
- Maintain accurate and compliant due process documentation.
- Work closely with the district’s DAPE team to ensure best practices and support for all students served.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages physical activity and personal growth.
