In this role, you’ll split your dedication between one high school and one elementary site, building meaningful connections with students who benefit from your guidance and advocacy.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credentials
- Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities, especially in adapted physical education settings
- Familiarity with IEP processes and ability to deliver individualized instruction
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Collaborative mindset when working with multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver daily gym and physical education activities informed by each student's IEP guidelines and goals
- Teach two consecutive adaptive PE classes each day at the high school site
- Work in the elementary classroom two days per week, supporting students in their unique educational journeys
- Partner closely with the district’s Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) team to ensure optimal student outcomes
- Manage and maintain due process paperwork and related documentation with accuracy and timeliness
