Desired Experience and Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for the state
- Previous experience with early elementary or K-1 Special Education highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Ed Techs and wider staff
- Experience in self-contained classroom settings
- Empathetic, patient, and flexible mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to the needs of each student
- Oversee and manage IEPs, working closely with families and specialists
- Lead a small classroom with the support of Ed Techs, fostering a positive, inclusive environment
- Adapt teaching methods to address a variety of learning and behavioral needs
- Communicate regularly with team members and participate in meetings as required
- Provide ongoing support and feedback to instructional assistants and Ed Techs
