Special Education Teacher - Cambridge, MA
Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract position supporting high school students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Qualifications:
- Valid DESE license in Moderate or Severe Special Needs (required)
- Experience working with students who have social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned to students’ IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and families
- Implement strategies to support positive behavior and emotional regulation
- Collect data on student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing team planning
- Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning atmosphere for all students
