Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Experience teaching grades 6-8 in a self-contained or autism classroom setting
- Deep understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavior management techniques
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for advocating for students with diverse needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated, engaging instruction tailored to each student’s IEP goals
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and functional development
- Collect and analyze data to chart progress and inform instructional decisions
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families
- Maintain a safe, supportive class environment that promotes independence and success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary teams
