Special Education Teacher - Brighton, Colorado
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students in a dedicated, self-contained Special Education classroom. Located near Brighton, CO, this position focuses on providing exceptional instruction and guidance to K-5 students with significant support needs. You'll collaborate with a supportive team in a positive learning environment while working a unique schedule: four days per week, Tuesday through Friday, with Mondays off. The school day runs from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Qualifications:
- Current CDE Special Education Teacher license required
- Experience working with students with significant support needs (SSN) preferred
- Ability to effectively collaborate with paraprofessionals and other support staff
- Strong commitment to individualized instruction and differentiated learning
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Teach and support a caseload of 6-13 elementary students in a self-contained setting
- Work alongside 2-3 paraprofessionals dedicated to the classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate with families, staff, and administration to ensure student growth and progress
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies tailored to students’ unique needs
