In this contract role, you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on early intervention, working side-by-side with the Child Find team to facilitate the identification and growth of students with special needs.
You will have the rewarding opportunity to provide specialized instruction across both morning and afternoon sessions, gradually building a caseload that may reach up to 40 students by the year’s end. What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individualized, high-quality instruction to preschool students in split sessions (AM/PM)
- Partner closely with the Child Find team to develop and implement compliant, effective IEPs
- Maintain and update IEPs, ensuring alignment with each student’s unique needs and legal requirements
- Conduct ongoing assessments, monitor progress, and systematically collect data
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and team planning sessions
- Engage in professional development and collaborative planning every Wednesday (no student contact)
- Sustain open communication with families and coordinate care with related service providers
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or closely related field
- Current Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience with early childhood populations strongly preferred
