An exciting contract opportunity is available for eight dedicated Special Education professionals to work onsite, covering a range of high-need positions for the upcoming school year. Assignments include high school English and Biology (with HS certifications required), as well as roles in middle school resource, elementary Intensive Learning Centers, pullout/inclusion combinations, and Pre-K SPED.
You will have the chance to support students in reaching their academic and developmental goals, working alongside experienced faculty from August through May. The site values creativity, empathy, and a strong commitment to individualized and inclusive education.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Active New Mexico licensure in Special Education (required)
- High School certification for SPED English or Biology assignments (required for those positions)
- Previous experience teaching students with diverse needs across K–12 settings is highly advantageous
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Dedication to creating supportive, achievement-focused learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Deliver engaging instruction in core subjects or life skills, depending on assignment
- Assess student progress and adjust strategies to maximize growth
- Manage classroom behavior positively and proactively
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and service teams
