Special Education Teacher | Columbus, Ohio
Bring your expertise as an Intervention Specialist to a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant K–8 setting near Columbus, Ohio. Working onsite at a single school, you’ll manage a caseload of 16 students with diverse, cross-categorical needs, collaborating closely with a dedicated support team. Your work schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 7:20 am to 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch, providing stability and balance during the school year and Extended School Year (ESY) period.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Special Education certification required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist in a school setting
- Comfortable working with K–8 students across varying disability categories
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to create inclusive, engaging learning environments on site
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and related service providers to tailor support plans
- Deliver instruction and support tailored to each student’s learning profile and needs
- Maintain detailed, timely documentation in accordance with state regulations and district guidelines
- Engage regularly with parents and guardians to discuss progress and strategies
- Foster a positive, adaptive classroom culture that encourages student growth
