Special Education Teacher - Denver, Colorado

Choose from a variety of center-based programs such as Affective Needs and Structured Learning Services (SLS), as well as Significant Support Needs (SSN). Some roles specifically serve K-2nd grade students with significant autism and communication needs, where experience with AAC devices and life skills instruction is highly valued. Each classroom offers robust support, including paraprofessionals and specialists.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Current Colorado Department of Education Certificate with Special Education endorsement is required
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Background supporting students with significant autism, emotional dysregulation, and non-verbal communication needs, including AAC device implementation
- Strong skills in collaborating with paraprofessionals and interdisciplinary teams
- Comfortable building classroom routines and individualizing learning for students with diverse abilities
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver daily instruction and implement IEPs for students with special needs
- Build essential life and academic skills, promoting social-emotional success
- Work with a team of paraprofessionals and collaborate with specialists to create a supportive learning environment
