Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students with special needs and making a real difference across North Denver area schools for the 2026-2027 school year. Multiple positions are available, focusing on center-based programs in both elementary and high school settings, working full-time (35+ hours each week) onsite.

These openings cover a range of placements, including:

  • Full-Time Affective Needs Teacher (Centennial and Cherry Drive Elementary)
  • Structured Learning Services Teacher (Eagleview and Hillcrest Elementary)—with a focus on K-2nd grade students building life skills, many of whom have significant autism and are non-verbal (AAC device proficiency required)
  • Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher (Northglenn High School and Arapahoe Ridge Elementary)

You will collaborate with experienced paraeducators, fellow special educators, and a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a supportive classroom environment. Start and end dates are August 11, 2026 through May 20, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education Certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • Experience supporting students with significant autism, non-verbal communication, and AAC devices required (especially for SLS roles)
  • Strong background developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to build life skills and foster positive behavior supports
  • Passion for inclusion, empathy, and teamwork

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support for students with diverse needs
  • Design engaging, functional activities that help students succeed in daily school routines
  • Collaborate on IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Communicate regularly with families, specialists, and school staff
