Special Education Teacher in Dorchester, MA

This full-time contract role provides the opportunity to work on-site in a supportive K-12 environment, collaborating with an experienced team to deliver effective, individualized instruction. The position runs from 8:00AM-2:30PM and will commence as soon as possible, continuing through June 25, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license/certification for either Moderate or Severe Disabilities (required)
- Direct experience working in a school setting with students who have developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and accommodations for special education students
- Comfortable with onsite responsibilities and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must be able to pass CORI search and fingerprint background checks (a letter of suitability from a previous employer may be used for fingerprints)
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated, individualized instruction to 2nd and 3rd grade students according to IEP goals
- Closely monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with families and staff
- Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support each child’s learning and development
- Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and administrators to create an inclusive, supportive environment
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations and documentation requirements
- Engage in regular communication with parents and participate in IEP meetings
