Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Massachusetts teaching license (Moderate or Severe Disabilities)
- Experience working in a school-based setting
- Knowledge of best practices for supporting students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- CORI background check and fingerprints required (letter of suitability may suffice for fingerprinting if available)
- Passion for fostering academic and personal growth in students with special needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for each student’s needs
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive care and educational success
- Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that encourages independence and positive social interaction
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to maximize student engagement and progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication for ongoing student development and compliance
