Make a difference in the lives of young learners by taking on a full-time contract role supporting 2nd and 3rd grade students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments. This position is based onsite and offers the rewarding opportunity to work directly with students in a supportive school environment. The work hours are 8:00AM-2:30PM, with an immediate start and an anticipated end date of June 25, 2026.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current, active Massachusetts teaching license/certification in Moderate or Severe Disabilities
- Previous experience working in a school-based special education setting
- Familiarity with supporting students who have developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- Ability to complete CORI background check and fingerprinting (a letter of suitability from a previous employer for fingerprinting may be considered)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for assigned students
- Adapt instructional strategies and materials to accommodate varying learning styles and needs
- Foster a classroom culture that supports social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Attend meetings and participate in ongoing professional development as required
