Special Education Teacher - Elk River, Minnesota

Multiple full-time contract openings are available for the 2026/2027 school year across a range of programs and sites, including assessment, therapeutic, and ASD center-based classrooms.
Current Special Education Teaching Opportunities:
- Assessment Teacher: Conduct evaluations, participate in eligibility determinations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and guide the development of compliant IEPs across district settings.
- Setting III/IV (Restore Program): Serve high school students with significant behavioral, emotional, and academic needs, implementing individualized behavioral and instructional supports in a therapeutic environment.
- ASD Center-Based Elementary Teachers: Deliver specialized instruction and collaborate closely with teams in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder within a structured elementary school program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver tailored instruction designed to meet diverse student needs and goals
- Conduct thorough, ongoing progress monitoring and maintain all required documentation
- Partner with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Implement behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
- Uphold compliance with IDEA, state special education requirements, and district policies
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom where all students are empowered to succeed
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education (or related field)
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain via reciprocity)
- Direct experience managing caseloads and IEPs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities
- Preferred experience with ASD, self-contained, assessment, or Setting III/IV roles, as well as familiarity with PBIS, MTSS, FBAs, and BIPs
