Special Education Teacher - Ellicott City, MD

Qualifications:
- Solid foundation in special education methodologies, with the ability to develop and implement IEPs and utilize proven instructional techniques.
- Skilled at supporting students with autism and complex behavioral or developmental challenges—prior experience highly preferred.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Eligibility for MSDE certification in special education (required); endorsement in Vision (preferred).
- Adept at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for K-12 students who are visually impaired and present with multiple disabilities and behavioral complexities.
- Create and adapt curriculum tailored to accessible learning, centered on each student's unique learning style and requirements.
- Utilize evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to foster skill acquisition and reduce behavioral excesses.
- Assess and monitor student progress, regularly updating IEP goals and collaborating with team members to ensure best outcomes.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to progress and achieve.
