Special Education Teacher | Glen Burnie, Maryland

Qualifications:
- Solid foundation in special education principles, practices, and procedures, including the ability to develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Experience supporting students with autism or multiple disabilities involving behavioral challenges preferred.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with eligibility for MSDE certification in special education (required); endorsement in Vision (preferred).
- Familiarity with evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis, particularly for skill acquisition and behavioral support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities in both group and one-on-one settings.
- Implement and monitor evidence-based behavioral interventions and teaching techniques.
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, families, and team members to create and revise IEPs that address academic, communication, and behavioral needs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that values diversity and individual strengths.
- Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and consistently communicate with families and staff.
