Job Summary
We are actively hiring a Special Education Teacher (SPED) to support high school students in a Significant Support Needs classroom near Fort Lupton, Colorado for the 2026–2027 school year. This role focuses on providing individualized instruction and behavioral support for students with moderate to severe disabilities in a structured, team-oriented environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for educators with experience in life skills, autism support, and intensive special education services.

Position Details

  • Start Date: August 3, 2026
  • End Date: May 21, 2027
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Setting: High School
  • Classroom Type: Significant Support Needs

Caseload & Programs
Significant Support Needs Classroom:

  • Approximately 9 students on caseload
  • Students require intensive academic, behavioral, and functional life skills support
  • Supported by 3 dedicated paraprofessionals
  • Focus on individualized instruction, daily living skills, and communication development

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Support students with significant disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and behavioral needs
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and differentiated instruction strategies
  • Track and monitor progress toward IEP goals
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education staff, and support teams
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA and Colorado special education regulations
  • Create a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications

  • Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Teaching License required
  • Experience in Significant Support Needs, Life Skills, or Autism programs preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, compliance, and behavior management
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $40-$55 hourly
  • Compensation is negotiable based on experience, credentials, and interview
