An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to work in a contract position supporting students with moderate to severe needs. This full-time assignment is conveniently based near Fremont, CA, and runs from August 13, 2026, through June 8, 2027. In this position, you will:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities across three caseloads, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Develop and modify curriculum based on student needs and IEP goals.
- Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes student engagement and growth.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and collaborative goals.
- Maintain thorough documentation for compliance and IEP reporting requirements.
Qualifications sought:
- Active California teaching credential with authorization in moderate/severe special education—this is a necessity.
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Special Education or a related field.
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on moderate to severe needs, especially at the elementary level, is a plus.
- Strong understanding of behavior intervention strategies, instructional differentiation, and accommodations for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
Compensation for this full-time opportunity ranges from $40 to $60 per hour, commensurate with your experience and certifications.
