Key Qualifications:
- Active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe required)
- Experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities, preferably in ESN settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance with federal and state special education laws
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Adaptability and creativity in modifying curriculum and instructional strategies
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized educational programs for students with moderate to severe needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education teachers to ensure student success
- Assess student progress, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and support
- Establish a safe and engaging classroom environment tailored to students’ unique needs and abilities
