Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certification, with a Special Education endorsement (required)
- Current credentials; candidates not holding the required license are not eligible
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Ability to complete district-required drug screen and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing processes
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and adaptive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to develop and implement effective IEPs
- Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and meet all compliance requirements
- Participate in professional development opportunities as assigned
