You will travel between schools throughout the academic year to support and collaborate with non-certified educators, ensuring special education standards and compliance are met across various sites.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Louisiana DOE Certification with a Special Education endorsement (required).
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher is essential.
- Expertise in IEP development, data collection, progress reporting, and instructional adaptations.
- Flexibility to serve as an itinerant teacher, supporting multiple campuses as needed.
- Ability to collaborate with educators in diverse school settings.
- Willingness to undergo district credentialing, including a drug test and fingerprinting.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct guidance and mentorship to non-certified teachers within special education classrooms.
- Assist in writing, reviewing, and maintaining compliant IEPs for assigned students.
- Train teachers on effective data collection methods and progress monitoring.
- Share evidence-based instructional strategies and manage classroom dynamics alongside staff.
- Engage with students across various age groups and adapt support accordingly.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting in line with district and legal requirements.
