Step into a pivotal role supporting student success as a certified special education teacher. This full-time, contract position (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday) is based in the vibrant New Orleans area, with assignments across multiple schools. As an itinerant special educator, you’ll make a resounding difference by guiding and mentoring non-certified colleagues, strengthening the special education programs across the district.

Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana DOE certification with Special Education endorsement (required)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with varied learning needs
- Confidence in IEP writing, progress reporting, and the application of effective instructional strategies
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate with non-certified educators
- Willingness to travel between schools as an itinerant educator
- Ability to successfully complete district credentialing, including drug testing, fingerprinting, and background checks
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative support to non-certified teachers in special education classrooms
- Assist with IEP development, documentation, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Offer instructional coaching and resources to ensure student needs are met
- Model best practices in differentiated instruction and data collection
- Work collaboratively with staff and administrators to advance inclusive education
