Special Education Teacher in Herriman, UT

This contract position runs from July 28, 2026, through May 26, 2027. You’ll collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to create engaging, effective instructional plans tailored to each student’s needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Utah Special Education License/Certification is required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, with skill in adaptive curriculum and individualized instruction
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to build supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in a K-3 Life Skills classroom, developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum materials to ensure lesson accessibility for all learners
- Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring, assessment, and documentation
- Maintain active communication with parents and guardians regarding student growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximize student success
