Step into a meaningful teaching opportunity supporting students with special needs in an in-person setting for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking an experienced Special Education professional to guide a Life Skills classroom, working with K/3 students and making a real difference every day. This is a full-time, contract role with a focus on hands-on instruction, located in a supportive school environment.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for creating inclusive learning experiences and are comfortable collaborating with a dedicated team to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Utah Special Education License or Certification, current and in good standing
- Previous experience teaching in a Special Education setting preferred
- Strong background in planning and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to effectively instruct and support students in Life Skills programs
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Enthusiastic, compassionate, and adaptable approach to teaching diverse learners
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary educator for a Life Skills K/3 classroom
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs
- Track student progress and update IEPs as needed
- Foster a positive, engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with other staff, therapists, and families to ensure student growth
- Provide support with daily living and social skills development
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and school events
