This travel assignment is perfect for Special Education Teachers seeking a temporary, full-time position for the new school year. You’ll cover a maternity leave from August 21st through early January at a well-regarded elementary school, serving students in grades K-4 with a variety of learning needs—including Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, and students on the Autism spectrum.
Role highlights:
- Start work August 21st, students arrive August 26th
- Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, 7:30 am–3:30 pm schedule
- Manage a manageable caseload averaging 12 students (10–15 range)
- Mixed-disabilities classroom: LD, OHI, Autism spectrum
- K-4 group, structured learning experience highly valued (Orton Gillingham or Wilson a major plus!)
- 40-minute daily prep/planning period
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for the assignment state
- Relevant experience with K-4 caseloads and diverse disabilities
- Experience with structured learning programs preferred
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
