Qualified candidates should bring:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience supporting middle school students, especially those with IEPs
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to individualize instruction and support students’ academic and social-emotional growth
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner closely with other staff and families
- Readiness to start immediately and work through the end of the school year
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct instruction in Reading/Language Arts to a caseload of nine 7th grade students
- Developing engaging, differentiated lesson plans based on students’ IEP goals
- Monitoring progress and documenting student growth
- Collaborating with general education teachers and other team members
- Fostering a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Contributing to IEP meetings and documentation as needed
