Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Special Education Certification and Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
- Experience managing significant behavioral needs, including elopement, defiance, physical aggression, and refusal behaviors.
- Comfort teaching and reinforcing replacement behaviors.
- Openness to CPI de-escalation training (provided onsite).
- Dedication to fostering positive, supportive instructional environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction to 3rd-8th grade students (max. 13 per class) supported by two paraprofessionals.
- Design and implement individualized behavior intervention strategies.
- Foster a safe, respectful classroom environment through the development of replacement behaviors.
- Collaborate continually with paraprofessionals and staff.
